Zane is a third year student at the University of Otago currently completing a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.
Zane graduated from high school in 2017 as Head Boy and Dux of Mahurangi College, attaining only Excellence marks in NCEA Level 3 and a Scholarship in History. He also received the University of Otago Academic Excellence scholarship, to the value of $45,000.
During his first year at Otago Zane achieved a 96% average grade across the seven Health Science First Year papers, ending the year with a 9.0 GPA. He passed second year medicine with distinction. In his UCAT he was ranked in the top 10% of all students who participated.
In his spare time Zane enjoys snowboarding, whitewater kayaking and hiking.
